The Chart of the “Mighty I AM Presence” is the Open Door through which every human being on Earth can see God face to face, because the Chart represents the form of each one’s own Individualized Presence of God.
The Upper Figure in the Chart represents the Electronic Body of the “Mighty I AM Presence,” which is the Individualized Focus of God who creates the physical body. The Circles of Color around the Electronic Body represent the Causal Body. This is the accumulated good of all previous embodiments. The Rays of Light going forth from the “Presence” are the Divine Mind or “Love in action,” continually pouring out Its Gifts of Perfection into the use of the human personality. The lower figure represents the physical body, surrounded by the Violet Consuming Flame.
The Chart is a vertical, three-tiered diagram used in the “I AM” Activity (founded by Guy and Edna Ballard) and related Ascended Master teachings, depicting the structure of the individual’s higher self and divine connection.
At the top is the I AM Presence (the Mighty I AM Presence), shown as a luminous human figure, typically robed in white, surrounded by concentric rings of radiant color called the Causal Body. These color bands (blue, yellow/gold, pink, white, green, ruby/gold, violet, etc.) represent the accumulated good and constructive energies the soul has built up across lifetimes. This figure symbolizes God Individualized — the eternal, perfect divine self.
In the middle is the Holy Christ Self (or Higher Mental Body), depicted as a second figure positioned between the upper Presence and the lower human figure. It serves as the mediator, guardian, and inner teacher — the bridge between the divine and the human.
Connecting the upper two figures to the lower one is the crystal cord (or silver cord), a stream of light descending from the I AM Presence through the Christ Self into the lower figure, anchoring the flow of life energy into the body. This light enters and sustains the physical form, often shown anchored in the heart.
At the bottom is the lower human figure, representing the individual in physical embodiment. Surrounding this figure is the Violet Flame (or Violet Consuming Flame), shown as violet fire enveloping the body, representing transmutation, purification, mercy, and the cleansing of discord. Around the figure is also depicted the Tube of Light, a cylinder of white light descending from the Presence that surrounds and protects the individual from negative or discordant energies.
The overall image conveys the teaching that each person is connected to a perfect divine source, with the Christ Self as intermediary, and that through invocation of light and the Violet Flame the human self can be purified and ultimately reunited (ascended) with the I AM Presence.
